A brand new ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 trailer not only gave fans insight to a more gruesome future for their favorite characters, but also left them with more puzzling questions. Showrunner Scott Gimple told Entertainment Weekly that the next season will transition differently when compared to previous ones, adding that the characters will be exploring new places and hideouts.
Lead character Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, revealed that Season 5 opens with the death of a major character, “It is an inevitable part of this show. It’s one of the great things, I think, that you have real jeopardy for favorite characters. It won’t be without its share of death this season” Grimes told Entertainment Weekly.
In the video presented at the Comic-Con, Rick, Glen, and Daryl are shown lined up at Terminus. It looks like the situation got messier with Gareth’s gang, and Bob is either awaiting for his final judgment or has already succumbed to his death.
Meanwhile, the end of the trailer shows the missing Beth Greene in what appears to be a hospital setting. Together with a female cop, Emily Kinney’s character seemed to have something to do with an experiment on a woman’s body on a table, Wetpaint reported. Could this mean that there’s finally a cure?
Meanwhile, Danai Gurira’s Michonne is expected to undergo a radical transformation especially that fans are curious to know whether she, Rick, Carl, and Judith are going to be family. Screenrant wrote that though there is no confirmation from the writers as to what the future holds for them, there is always a possibility.
“What’s great is that Michonne has people that she cares about again – and as I was saying earlier, her true self is a woman who had intimate relationships, had a child, and so it’s beautiful that she has [Rick and them],” Gurira said.
AMC’s renowned zombie apocalypse series, ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5, is set to return on television on October 2014.
